The food is expensive, but it is the best around. Very consistent, fresh and delicious, we haven't had a bad meal from there yet. Others in the area are not consistent and not worth taking the chance.
I am surprised to see the bad reviews.
Stopped in for to go. Was excited by the look of the place- it was nice for a little to go counter joint. Ordered crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice and some beef thing with scallions.
Cardboard rangoon- had no taste- blah. I didn't think anything deep fried could be bad but yes BAD.
Shrimp fried rice- bland again, didn't taste like fried rice it was white almost- I could of done better with an onion, egg, soy and min. rice at home.
Beef thing- Bland again, and there was dirt from the scallions gritting around. And the highlight was some black metal like thing that about broke my tooth, have no idea what it was.
Oh and this was all a pretty penny- for the same scratch I could of ordered a giant NY strip and huge side from Abe and Louie's for pick up.
Bamboo wok is 100 times better and priced at what Chineese should be.
I was undecided as to what to order, but the girl at the counter was helpful as well as the owners in telling me what ingredients were used in certain dishes. I ordered a couple of egg rolls with house duck sauce and house mustard sauce (I don't like the packets) and an order of ribs (6) well done, NOT burnt and NOT fatty.
The order came out fast and hot. The egg rolls were larger than most chinese take-outs that I've been to and tasty. The ribs were EXACTLY as I ordered them and very meaty and tasty. I have not tried any of the dishes yet, but WILL DEFINITELY go back and try some other things.
The express take-out has only been open for five (5) months and sometimes it takes a bit of time for places to get their act together so give them a chance.
Overpriced, bland Americanized Chinese food--just like all the others. The "fried" rice was bizarre: it barely touched a wok, nearly white, with a single shard of egg; that's it. The "Mongolian Beef" was the worst I've ever had: watery "sauce," no flavor whatsoever. Small portions, and most items are not even offered as large or small--just large and expensive. What a disappointment. (And yes, I've tried some of the other items, most of which suffer from the same blandness.) Chefs from Chinatown? I think not!
